SENATORS 3, RANGERS 2 (OT): Kyle Turris scored 2:42 into overtime as Ottawa won a home playoff game for the first time since 2007 and leveled its Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at two games apiece.
Turris accepted a drop pass from rookie Jim O'Brien and wristed a shot from the left faceoff circle which beat Henrik Lundqvist under the crossbar.
Defenseman Sergei Gonchar and Milan Michalek also tallied and Craig Anderson stopped 31 shots for the eighth-seeded Senators, who played without captain Daniel Alfredsson for the second straight game.
The teams will reconvene for Saturday's Game 5 at Madison Square Garden.
Defenseman Anton Stralman and captain Ryan Callahan netted power-play goals and Brad Richards and Marian Gaborik notched a pair of assists for the top-seeded Rangers.
After New York converted its first two power-play opportunities to take a 2-0 lead in the first period, Ottawa fought back in the second.
Defenseman Matt Carkner, who returned after serving a one-game suspension, exited the penalty box and then provided a nifty feed to Michalek. The All-Star alertly backhanded the puck past Lundqvist and under the crossbar at 7:04 of the second period.
Gonchar leveled the contest at 2-2 with 2:10 left in the second period after his blast from the top of the right faceoff circle squeezed past Lundqvist for a power-play goal.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lundqvist's shutout streak ended at 87 minutes, four seconds. ... After converting just one of their first 11 opportunities with the man advantage, the Rangers scored on their first two chances on Wednesday. ... Ottawa's Jesse Winchester suffered an upper body injury and did not return. ... New York rookie Carl Hagelin served the second contest of a three-game suspension after he elbowed Alfredsson in the face during Game 2.
