DEVILS 4, RANGERS 1: Ilya Kovalchuk and David Clarkson each scored their 26th goals of the season to lead host New Jersey.
The Devils solved Henrik Lundqvist twice in the third period to earn only their second win in the last seven games.
With the game tied at 1-1 in the third, Clarkson wired a wrister past Lundqvist on the rush to make it 2-1.
Less than two minutes later, Ryan Carter finished off a perfect centering pass from Jacob Josefson to give the Devils a 3-1 advantage. Patrik Elias added an empty-netter.
Kovalchuk scored for the first time in 10 games to give New Jersey a 1-0 lead 49 seconds into the game. He also added an assist.
Derek Stepan scored for the Rangers and has five points in his last four games. New York had previously earned points in five straight games.
Martin Brodeur made 25 saves to earn his 23rd win of the season.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Devils honored forward Petr Sykora prior to the game for playing his 1,000th NHL contest Sunday in Long Island. ... Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky left the game in the first period with a hand injury and didn’t return.
